The Allegations

  • In February 1999, a customer alleged that Sergio Rovner violated various securities laws, recommended unsuitable investments, handled their account negligently, and breached his fiduciary duty. This case was settled for $40,000.
  • In June 2002, a customer alleged that Sergio Rovner execute unauthorized trades. This case was settled for $78,000.
  • In January 2003, a customer alleged that Sergio Rovner charged them excessive commissions. This case was settled for $35,000.
  • In July 2004, a customer alleged that Sergio Rovner failed to enter a stop-limit order on the customer’s intel holdings at $30 a share. This case was settled for approximately $5,000 in damages.
  • In February 2018, a customer alleged that Sergio Rovner engaged in unauthorized trading and recommended unsuitable investments. This case was settled for $12,635 in damages.
