His Registrations

  • Banc of America Investment Services (2001-2009)
  • Merrill Lynch (2009-Present)

The Allegations

In January 2018, customers alleged that Craig Mardany made material misrepresentations, omitted material facts, and recommended unsuitable investments. This case was settled for $5 million in damages.

What Does This Mean?

Misrepresentation occurs whenever a securities broker makes any false assertion of fact to their customers about an investment or potential investment. This act can occur either by accident, due to the brokers own negligence, or on purpose, through the broker’s intent to defraud the customer. Regardless of the broker’s intent, misrepresentation can cause serious financial harm to investors as it can lead to them making crucial financial decisions based on inaccurate information.
