Attorney Bruce Oakes leads the Oakes & Fosher securities team, often against some of the biggest brokerage firms in the industry. Mr. Oakes has extensive experience in representing clients in securities arbitration claims and has a deep and all-encompassing understanding of the securities industry.

Since 2007, Oakes and Fosher has won more cases on behalf of individual investors tried before full FINRA panels than any other attorney in the country.

Mr. Oakes has litigated numerous cases to successful outcomes before securities arbitration panels, often recovering not only compensatory damages but attorneys’ fees, costs, and punitive damages, as well.*

Mr. Oakes has been featured in the Public Investors Arbitration Bar Association’s (PIABA’s) Bar Journal and Lawyers Weekly for large compensatory and punitive damages awards.

Bruce is also Lawyer Monthly Magazine’s 2022 Arbitration & Mediation Award Winner. He was selected as the category winner following a rigorous four-step process, including editorial nominations, readership voting, shortlisting, and finalist selection. His excellence, displayed through his impact, client recommendations, innovation, and going above and beyond his call of duty, make him a prime candidate for this award.

Mr. Oakes received his Juris Doctor from The Saint Louis University School of Law, where he received two American Jurisprudence awards for excellence in legal studies. Mr. Oakes received his undergraduate degree from Dickinson College and received the Pennsylvania Institute of Certified Public Accountants award for excellence in accounting studies. This combination of Mr. Oakes’ legal and financial backgrounds has been invaluable in pursuing compensation for his clients who have had their brokerage accounts mishandled.

Bruce is a married father of three sons, Alex, Adam, and Austin. Bruce and his wife, Dawn, enjoy spending time with family, friends, and their four dogs.
