The Allegations

  • In January 2001, customers alleged that they were given inappropriate advice by Lawrence Hagedorn to finance the purchase of variable life insurance policies using funds from their IRAs. This case was settled for $7,200 in damages.
  • In March 2005, a customer alleged that Hagedorn failed to act in a timely manner, thereby denying her the opportunity to exercise their free look option. This case was settled for an undisclosed amount in damages.
  • In September 2017, Lawrence Hagedorn was terminated from his position at The O.N. Equity Sales Company following allegations that he violated the firm’s policy regarding borrowing money from customers. He was eventually sanctioned by the Office of the Kansas Securities Commissioner due to these alleged actions. He was fined $50,000 and forced to pay $102,500 in restitution.
